1. How do you calibrate the screen of Energy Tablet i828HD?

It is not necessary, the screen of your "Energy Tablet i828HD" is automatically calibrated.

3. The built-in memory of the Energy™ Tablet i828HD is 4GB, but the available memory is lower, why?

The Android 2.3+ operating system and the preinstalled applications need approximately 1,5GB of memory to work. Therefore the available memory for additional data is lower.

4. How I can reset my tablet?

There are three different levels of reset:

A) There is a small circular hole of 1 mm diameter in the connections side, insert a paperclip until you feel a "click".

B) In the menu Settings / Privacy / Factory Data Reset / Restart Energy Tablet. This option resets the tablet and erases all configuration data, multimedia content and applications you had installed.

C) "Hard factory reset": if for any reason you are unable to access the device in any way you should follow these steps:

WARNING: This option restarts the tablet and erases all configuration data, multimedia content and applications you had installed.

1) Connect the device to the current.

2) Hold down the Vol+ and Power button simultaneously and at the same time press the reset button with a paperclip.

3) Hold Vol+ and Power buttons until the display shows the Android logo with an exclamation sign.

4) Press and hold Power button again, at the same time press Vol+, then release both buttons, you should see the menu screen "Android system recovery".

5) Double-clicking Vol- will put you on the "wipe data / factory reset" option.

6) Press POWER once and you will be prompted about "total loss of user data". Press Vol- until you are on "Yes". Press Power again.

7) When on-screen displays "data wipe complete" press Power again to reset the tablet.

5. How do I install a payment application from the App Store SlideMe?

Follow these steps:

1) Register on the web: https://slideme.org/user/register

2) Once completed you will enter your username and password in the application installed on your Energy Tablet: Menu / More / storage box. You can also enter your information when trying to make your first purchase with the application.

3) Now you can buy applications two ways: a) buy from the WEB SlideMe and pay using the "WebBuy", the application will be available for download on your Energy Tablet as soon as you enter your username and password the application. b) Buy directly from the application by entering your username and password when prompted.

3. Can I listen music while reading?

Yes, you can listen to music and read while reading certain types of files that do not consume excessive internal memory, such as TXT and EPUB format

1. When trying to go directly to a determined book page, I write the number of the page where I want to go and the reader opens a different page.

It may be that the lower score of pages of text file you're reading not corresponds to the actual paging file. This will depend on the layout of the file original.

2. Some of my special language characters are not recognized and are shown as oriental characters.

You just have to open the book and press "M" to open the menu. From there you must access to the option "Code type" and choose from the available types of code the one corresponding to your language.

3. What happens if the Reader is left on?

When the sleep mode is activated, the Reader will automatically enter a state of reduced battery consumption if left inactive. If sleep mode is not activated, and the reader is left on during a long period of time, the battery will drain.

4. The battery life seems too short, seems to drain quickly or does not last as long as expected.

It is recommended to charge the Reader using the supplied USB/DC cable. When the device is connected to a power supply, the battery icon on your player's screen will show an increasement of the level of charge. This indicates that the charging process of the battery is being performed correctly. If once connected to a power supply the battery icon does not indicate a charge level increasement, double check the cable to ensure that your Reader device is properly connected.

It will take approximately 4 hours to achieve a full charge with a computer.

Always verify that your Reader is fully charged by disconnecting it from the computer and checking the battery indicator. The battery indicator will display green colour when it is fully charged.

Playing audio will reduce the battery life. If you did not start audio play back intentionally, confirm audio is not playing.

If the resolution of the video exceeds 800x480, you can have problems when trying to play it. Change the resolution or try with another video. There are videos that are not supported by the reader. It depends on the internal code that the video uses. Video files with supported formats can vary in resolution and bit rate. Try to play another video. To reproduce files in a format that is not supported by the reader, it will be necessary to make previously a conversion to another kind of file, using one of the many software utilities available for that purpose.

Please note that the contents of most formats (EPUB, FB2, TXT, DOC, etc.) must be plain text because the reader does not allow text or complex configurations layouts determined, should be treated only plain text, only characters. Some files larger than 500KB per file in particular can cause malfunction of the device due to memory consumption. The performance depends on the size of the file. In these cases, we recommend software to convert the file to another format that consumes less memory.

In the list of files, files with names exceeding 15 characters will not be displayed complete, that is why it is recommended that you change the file names if you want to see correctly.

Do not enter files or folders with names too long or strange characters, and which could cause a malfunction of the reader. In this case, change the file names or folders.

1. My player doesn’t power on and/or my computer doesn’t detect it, what can I do?

Probably there is a problem with the firmware. Check the user manual section
“FIRMWARE REINSTALLATION”.

2. Why can’t I play some WMA files?

Make sure that you are not coding the WMA files with DRM

3. The FM-Transmitter seems to have too short range.

Keep in mind that the earphones act as antenna to improve both FM transmission and reception. Check out the FM-TRANSMITTER section of the users manual to make a good use of this function

4. Why can’t I display my .jpg files?

Many digital cameras and image edition software add hidden data to the .jpg files. This data can prevent your MP5 from loading the images. Try to eliminate them by saving the file with another name

5. Why can’t I see the image, video or text files while using the music browser?

You will only see the files in memory associated to the browsing you are doing (music files for Music, image files for Photo, etc…). To view all the files in memory at once, choose the “Explorer” option inside EXTRAS menu.

6. Sometimes the screen turns black and the player does not respond.

Make sure that the TV OUT is not activated, since it deactivates the player screen. In the user manual you can find the ways to active/deactivate the TV OUT function. If you do not have access to a TV set right now, use the power switch to reinitiate the player.

It varies greatly depending on the playback conditions, such as earphones vs. speaker, or touch-screen turned on or off. The approximate playback time of the player is 10 hours of music playback and 3 hours of video playback

8. When I turn off the MP5 with the power switch, the brightness or the song I was listening to are not stored. What gives?

For the MP5 to successfully store its state, you have to switch it off holding the ON/ OFF button

9. Why can’t I play some MP3 files?

The MP3 file has to be compressed along some standards like MPEG1/MPEG2/
MPEG 2.5 layer 3. Otherwise, the file must be converted using a software
application

10. Why the system does not respond when I press an icon?

You should recalibrate the touch-screen (see “BATTERY POWER AND TOUCH SCREEN CALIBRATION”).

11. What’s the video format of my MP5 Energy™?

Your MP5 Energy™ plays many video formats without recoding, and AVI files compressed with XVID (MP2 audio). Convert your videos using Energy Movier to ensure compatibility.

12. Why can’t I play some video files?

It’s possible that the format/codec is not compatible. Convert the file with the
Energy Movier software to assure compatibility and obtain a file that will occupy
less space in memory.

1. I can not play big sized files.

The file size limit is 2 gigabytes

2. When the Energy™ Android™ Media Player is connected to the computer through the USB cable I can not play multimedia files in the device.

When you connect the player to the computer, the file transfer mode between devices is activated by default, so you can access the player memory from the computer. Roll down the status bar at the desktop screen and you will see the notifications list. Select the option "Deactivate USB storage" and you will be able to play multimedia content again

6. What are the video formats compatible with my Energy™ Android™ Media Player?

Your Energy™ Android™ Media Player plays many video formats without recoding and up to HD (720p) quality. Convert your videos using Energy Movier available at Energy Sistem website to ensure compatibility

7. Why can't I see the image, video or text files while using the music browser?

As a general rule of thumb, the apps only show the compatible files that can be loaded by it. Therefore if you browse the memory through the load browser of one application you can only see the file types associated to that app (music to music player, videos to movie player, etc…) To see all files in memory at once, use the app Explorer at the applications menu.

8. My Energy™ Android™ Media Player can not play 720p videos. Why?

Be sure that the format of the video you want to play is compatible with your Energy™ Android™ Media Player and the bitrate is not higher than 2500Kbps

9. My Energy™ Android™ Media Player doesn't power on and/or my computer doesn't detect it. What can I do?

You can connect USB external hard drives which have their own power source (AC/DC adaptor or battery), and using FAT, FAT 32 or NTFS file formats

13. Why can't I play some WMA files?

Make sure the WMA files are without any DRM

14. How can I access other apps without leaving the current one?

Holding for a few seconds the house icon at the top left corner of the screen you can access the last apps launched menu

15. What's the playback time of the player?

1. Uncompress the firmware file you downloaded from our web.

2. Open the folder where you uncompressed the files and run “Client.exe”.

3. Press “Open” and select the firmware file for your MP4 model (file with .BIN extension).

4. At that moment, power on your MP4 Energy™, select SETTINGS ->SYSTEM -> UPGRADE option and choose "Yes".

5. Plug the device to your computer using the included USB 2.0 cable.
NOTE: If your MP4 does not turn on, or the screen is not visible, you can connect the player to your computer with the firmware recovery mode in a direct way. To do so, with the player turned OFF maintain pressed the MENU button while you insert the USB cable.

6. Press the "Upgrade" button.

7. Wait until the process ends. The "Upgrade" button will activate again and the message “Firmware upgrade done” will appear. Press the "Exit" button.

8. Disconnect your MP4 Energy™ by using the Safe Hardware Extraction icon which is usually next to the windows system clock, and wait until the system confirms that the device can be removed.

9. Unplug the USB cable, power on the device and wait until the main menu appears on screen. (a System Init… message may appear for a few seconds)

10. Connect the player again to the computer with the USB 2.0 cable.

11. At "My PC", right click over the drive that represents the internal memory of the player.

12. Choose "Format". The format window will appear. Check the "Fast format" option and click the "Start" button.

13. Once the format procedure has finished, press "Close".

14. You can again transfer data to your MP4 Energy™ and enjoy it right away
